ALDEBURGH FROM THE MOOT HALL TO THE WENTWORTH

The Moot Hall was built was built during the first half of the 16th century. The style of the building suggests to one expert that it was built about 1520-1550.  Though it houses the Aldeburgh Museum, pleasingly it retains its original purpose as the venue for Aldeburgh Town Council.

THE WENTWORTH HOTEL

The Wentworth has been run by a member of the Pritt family since 1920.  Unlike other hotels in the town which have gone through a renaissance after periods of character sapping management by large chains, The Wentworth is an old friend and has been managed to a consistently high standard since I first visited in the 1950s.
